The Contessa Awards is the Academy Awards of hairdressing, held annually in Toronto, to crown the Canadian Hairstylist of the Year. This year’s theme is FUTURE, the future of beauty as interpreted by the best, most accomplished and celebrated hairstylists in Canada. This year’s stage performances will be presented by the artistic team of Moroccanoil and Aveda. The Contessa Awards attracts thousands of industry talent and professionals from all over the country. These industry leaders are creating the very hair trends we swoon over in Canadian magazines, taming celebrity hair into enviable looks, and giving us major hair goals.

This years Contessa Awards will take place on Sunday November 5.  As we patiently wait to see who will take this year’s cake; we are reflecting on some of our favourite past entries and winners. If you need some inspiration on what to do with your tired tresses, take a look at these stunning entries from past awards.

These gorgeous claws might not be hair- but that doesn’t mean they aren’t inspiring! If you are stuck in a nail rut, consider decorating you hands with a similar pattern to these nails. A pretty design layered over a sharp pointed nail make for wearable art, and the perfect way to shake up your regular look.
